Sous Chef
This position will assist and report to Chef Marshall Paulsen to create and execute Good Real Food.
Duties will include:
- Leading, coaching and mentoring a kitchen team
- Assisting with ordering and inventory management
- Collaboration on recipes for our menu and specials
- Building and implementing systems to match pace with our rapidly growing restaurant

- Deep knowledge of culinary fundamentals and techniques

Financial Manager
30hrs/week

Purpose:
To strengthen the financial core and poise The Birchwood Cafe for creative and sustainable growth. To cultivate a positive work environment with progressive HR practices that support both individual development and BW’s strategic needs.

Major Responsibilities:
50% Financial Accounting, Reporting, Analysis, & Budgeting
20% Human Resources
20% Systems Management/Licensing
10% Participation on Leadership Team

Qualified candidates must have an Accounting degree and experience in:
o Maintaining a chart of accounts
o All aspects of financial accounting for a restaurant environment
o AP, AR, GL entry, account reconciliation, cash management, etc.
o Preparing financial statements and budgets
o Detailed sales and expense analysis
o Payroll processing
o Sales tax reporting

Knowledge in the following areas is not required but is preferred:
o Point of sale systems (Aloha)
o Employee benefits management
